On May 12, a reporter learned from the Provincial Safety Supervision Bureau that the 2014 "Safety Production Month" campaign will officially kick off next month. Organized by the Provincial Safety Committee in collaboration with multiple departments—including the Provincial Party Committee Propaganda Department, the Provincial Public Security Department, the Provincial Bureau of Press, Publication, Broadcasting, the Provincial Coal Bureau, the Provincial General Trade Union, the Communist Youth League, the Provincial Women’s Federation, and the Liaoning Coal Supervision Bureau—the initiative aims to raise awareness about safety across the province.
The theme for this year's campaign is "Strengthening the Red Line Awareness and Promoting Safe Development." Activities will run throughout June, from June 1st to June 30th, across all districts, relevant member units of the safety committees, and various industries. June 16th has been designated as the Day of Safety Production and Consultation. On that day, under the theme "Upholding the Red Line and Implementing Strict Laws," the Provincial Safety Committee and the Shenyang Municipal Safety Committee will jointly set up a publicity and consultation center to conduct on-site promotions and discussions. All provinces, industries, and companies will participate in synchronized events with a unified theme.
During the "Safety Production Month," provincial and municipal authorities will form propaganda teams to visit cities, counties, and districts. They will deliver presentations on important instructions from General Secretary Xi Jinping regarding safety production. Local governments, departments, and organizations will also screen warning education films, hold safety education discussions, and use accident lessons to enhance responsibility implementation and improvement measures.
At the same time, safety committees at all levels will focus on key areas such as oil and gas pipelines, mines, hazardous chemicals, large shopping malls, and school safety. They will organize joint efforts involving government, enterprises, and social organizations, conducting coordinated evacuation drills, fire-fighting exercises, and emergency rescue operations to improve the practicality and operability of emergency plans.
In cooperation with the national "Safety Production Wanlixing" campaign, the province will carry out security risk exposure, the "100 Reporters, 100 Mines" initiative, and topics on "non-government violations" and safety training. Selected regions will undergo surprise inspections of hidden dangers in oil and gas pipelines, mines, and dangerous chemicals. Reporters and film crews will be invited to join these investigations, exposing typical safety hazards through media coverage and organizing activities like "Uncovering Safety Risks."
Additionally, authorities in sectors such as fireworks, construction, road traffic, water transportation, fire safety, special equipment, tourism, and commerce will conduct targeted "Safety Production Month" activities tailored to their respective industries.
