On February 15th, Professor Wang Chuansheng, the first person in charge of the project, told reporters: “The project is in the area of ​​circular economy and energy saving and emission reduction. It is to dispose of used tires and rubber in a harmless and resourceful manner. Cracked and oiled to obtain high-quality fuel oil, which realizes the recycling of resources."

With the development of China’s auto industry, China’s production and possession of automobiles rank first in the world, and it has become the world’s largest consumer of rubber and plastics. At the same time, the production of waste rubber and waste plastics has also increased dramatically. By 2010, it has reached more than 17 million tons, accounting for about 15% of the total solid waste.

“Black waste represented by waste rubber and 'white waste' represented by waste plastics cause serious pollution to the environment. If it is not treated effectively, it is also a huge waste of resources.” Wang Chuansheng said how to dispose of these wastes. The efficient and pollution-free use of rubber waste plastics is a major issue that needs to be solved in the area of ​​circular economy, energy conservation and emission reduction. For waste rubber and waste plastics, there are mainly recycling methods mainly based on recycling and disposal methods based on incineration and cracking. Incineration can recover energy, but it will cause serious secondary pollution; cracking can achieve resource regeneration, but also can solve the pollution problem, is the most ideal and most scientific and reasonable treatment.

Qingdao University of Science and Technology and Jinan Youbang Hengyu Technology Development Co., Ltd. have cooperated with research and production, and have produced 16 continuous low temperature pyrolysis production lines for waste rubber industry and 10 waste plastic pyrolysis production lines, respectively, and sold to Germany, Australia, Thailand and other countries. And in the region, a total of more than 16 million tons of waste rubber was processed, and more than 10 million tons of waste plastics were used to realize an output value of 1.6 billion yuan.

Wang Chuansheng disclosed that in the future, the school will further strengthen cooperation with Jinan Youbang Hengyu Technology Development Co., Ltd. to explore the use of carbon black and steel wire in high quality, turning it into waste, and doing its part to protect the environment.
