Elevators sorted by speed

Elevators are not strictly categorized by speed, but in China, they are commonly classified based on their operating speeds.

Low-speed elevators typically operate at speeds below 1.00 m/s. These are often used in smaller buildings or areas where high-speed movement is not required.

Medium-speed elevators generally have a speed range between 1.00 and 2.00 m/s. They are widely used in mid-rise buildings and offer a good balance between efficiency and cost.

High-speed elevators are designed for taller buildings and can reach speeds above 2.00 m/s. As technology advances, the threshold for what is considered "high-speed" continues to rise.

Ultra-high-speed elevators exceed 5.00 m/s and are typically found in skyscrapers or high-traffic commercial buildings. These systems require advanced engineering to ensure safety and comfort.

In addition to speed classification, elevators can also be divided based on whether they have a driver or not.

A driver-operated elevator requires a full-time operator to control the movement of the car. This type is less common today but still used in certain settings such as hotels or special facilities.

Non-driver elevators allow passengers to operate the system themselves. Users simply enter the cabin, press the desired floor button, and the elevator automatically takes them to their destination. Many of these models include features like automatic door closing and emergency stop functions.

Some elevators are designed to be either driver-operated or passenger-operated, depending on the situation. These systems can switch between modes, offering flexibility in different environments. For example, during peak hours, a driver may take control to manage traffic more efficiently.

As elevator technology continues to evolve, both speed classifications and operational methods will likely continue to change, adapting to the needs of modern architecture and urban life.

Flanges are used to connect valves, pipes, pumps and other equipment to make a pipework system. Typically flanges are welded or threaded, and two flanges are connected together by bolting them with gaskets to provide a seal that provides easy access to the piping system
