German EOS will present their latest technology at the Farnborough International Air Show in the UK next month (July 14 - July 20, 2008). The new product launched by EOS in Germany is mainly laser sintering equipment, which can sinter metal powder to the surface of parts. EOS will also introduce a new material called MSl at this exhibition. MSl is a martensitic-reinforced high-strength, hardness steel material that can be used in the production of parts for the aerospace industry. The tensile strength of MSl is 1950. MPa, after a simple thermal age hardening, the hardness of MSl can reach 55HRC. According to EOS, the performance of MSI is at least equal, even better than ordinary tool steel. The composition of MSl is maraging 300 according to the US classification standard. According to the German standard, X3NiCoMoTi 18-9. To further expand the application of laser sintering technology in the aerospace industry, EOS has also developed nickel powder and titanium powder for laser sintering.
