Rules for Bearing Housing Equipment in the Construction of Electric Power Boiler Units
Bearing housing equipment plays a crucial role in the construction and operation of electric power boiler units. Proper installation and maintenance of these components are essential to ensure smooth performance, reduce wear, and extend the service life of the machinery. Here are some key guidelines that should be followed during the installation and maintenance process:
- The bearing housing must be free from cracks, sand holes, or other defects. The surface should be clean, with no sharp edges or residual molding sand.
- All cooling water pipes within the bearing housing's cooling or oil chamber must undergo a pressure test before installation. The test pressure should be 1.25 times the maximum operating pressure of the cooling water.
- The adjustment seat of the bearing housing and the base plate should not exceed three pieces (excluding insulation pads). The gasket area should be at least as large as the bearing contact surface to ensure even load distribution.
- The radial clearance between the shaft and the shaft seal ring must follow the specifications outlined in the equipment manual. For sliding bearings, the clearance is typically around 1.5–2.0 mm, while for rolling bearings, it ranges between 0.3–0.6 mm. The sealing material should be tightly packed into the groove, and the shaft should make even contact without excessive tightness.
- When using grease for rolling bearings, the amount should be carefully controlled. For low-speed machines, the grease should not exceed two-thirds of the bearing chamber volume. For machines operating above 1500 RPM, the amount should not exceed half the chamber volume.
- The oil level gauge must be sturdy and leak-free. The top of the gauge should be connected to the atmosphere, and any closed oil chamber’s breather should be kept clean. The oil level should be sufficient to immerse the bottom of the rolling bearing by about one-third to one-half.
- The oil ring should be perfectly round, with uniform thickness and a lubricated surface. The joint should be strong and free from damage. The oil ring should be immersed in the oil by approximately one-quarter of its depth to ensure proper lubrication.
