Polycrystalline diamond tip drill bit lifting hole processing performance

**Abstract** Seco's newly launched CX1 and CX2 monolithic diamond tip drills, developed independently by Chinese researchers, are now available on the market. These tools are designed to enhance tool life, boost productivity, and improve the quality of composite hole machining for manufacturers. Unlike traditional grain or double-sided PCD tip designs, the CX1 and CX2 solid carbide drills feature an integral PCD dome and cap, which help prevent material delamination and fiber uncutting more effectively. This innovative PCD technology has enabled Seco to introduce the industry’s first three-flute PCD drill bit (CX1) specifically for composite drilling. A notable advantage of the CX1 and CX2 is their superior strength and sharper cutting edge compared to any previous Seco product. This performance is achieved through the use of a fully integrated PCD tip, which is sharper than diamond-coated drills. The latter type of coating tends to wrap around the cutting edge, leading to quicker dulling. In contrast, the new all-in-one PCD tip offers high cutting speeds, low friction, excellent heat transfer, and high process reliability, while also being regrindable multiple times. For efficient drilling of standard composites, the CX1’s third cutting edge provides enhanced stability during hole machining, reducing vibration and improving roundness. Additionally, the dome-shaped tip of the CX1 features a dual-angle groove that significantly minimizes material delamination and fiber uncutting in pure composite applications. Such complex groove geometries would be difficult to achieve with conventional welding or similar PCD methods. Moreover, the dome cap design allows the drill tip to be reground, supporting up to three regrinding cycles. The CX2, on the other hand, is designed for laminated composites containing multiple layers of aluminum or titanium alloys. Its flat-groove geometry, combined with a PCD cap, ensures efficient chip breaking and evacuation. The 180° tip angle helps reduce the risk of metal chips damaging the borehole, especially at the interface between metal layers and composite materials. As a result, the CX2 maintains the surface roughness of the composite intact. The CX1 and CX2 series are available in a wide range of sizes, covering hole diameters from 3.26mm to 9.53mm (0.125" to 0.375"). Chamfering options are also available, further enhancing the flexibility and applicability of these advanced drill bits in various manufacturing environments.

CNG Mass Flow Meter

Sealand is a trustworthy manufacturer of CNG Mass Flow Meter, CNG Mass Flowmeter, CNG Flow Meter, CNG Flowmeter, CNG Coriolis Meter, ATEX, IECEx & CE approved.

With its high accuracy, wide rangeability and reliable performance, Sealand meter has been applied in many kinds of industries during the last 8 years. Unlike others who only focus on the measurement of liquid at normal pressure & temperature, Sealand has conquered the difficulty in the measurement under severe conditions, such as high pressure, high viscosity, high & low temperature.
Take CNG (compressed natural gas) for example. As the saying goes, the meter can measure anything else if it can measure CNG. It is quite hard to measure gas under high pressure. The sensor must be able to bear high pressure; in this way, the thickness of flow tube must be increased, so the transmitter shall be more sensitive to detect the signal; however, Sealand made it. Sealand's first model is specially designed for CNG dispenser, and now thousands of this model are put into use on the market.
