In a recent event, the Huizhou Power Supply Bureau’s Occupational Safety Experience Center and Operational Base welcomed a group of young visitors—students from Huanggang High School in Huizhou. Located at the Longyuan Power Training Base in Zhongkai High-tech Zone, the Huizhou Power Vocational Experience Center was completed at the end of last year. As the first city-level bureau-level safety and health center under Guangdong Power Grid Company, it features indoor work safety and sensory halls, outdoor high-altitude training areas, and a power equipment exhibition hall.
After watching the animated short film “Safety Electricity†and the micro-film “Light from the Mountain,†Wang Tiezhan, a technical expert from the Huizhou Power Supply Bureau’s expert studio, joined the students on a real-life tour. He explained the construction, operation, and equipment of substations, as well as grounding techniques and engineering labs.
Under the guidance of staff, the students explored various indoor and outdoor safety projects. In the high-altitude fall experience area, they learned about the importance of wearing hard hats and safety helmets. Many students shared their impressions, saying, “Without a helmet, it feels like you might get hurt.â€
Li Xiaoli, director of the Training Center at the Human Resources Department of the Huizhou Power Supply Bureau, emphasized that all projects in the experience center are based on real-life scenarios, aiming to enhance the safety awareness of power workers through hands-on experiences and interactive devices. The goal is to help employees recognize personal risks such as electric shocks, falling objects, and high-altitude falls, and to develop good professional habits.
The Huizhou Municipal Power Supply Bureau encourages students and citizens to visit and experience the center. Through video watching, on-site visits, and personal experiences, people can better understand the importance of electricity safety.
In addition, the Wuhu Power Supply Station has launched a 24-hour self-service business hall. This new facility aims to address the issue of long queues and bill payment challenges for residents in remote areas of Wuhu.
According to the head of the Wuhu Power Supply Bureau, the 24-hour self-service terminal uses a user-friendly system. Users simply follow the steps, choose between cash or UnionPay card payments, press the confirmation button, and the transaction is complete. The system also offers ticket printing services.
Furthermore, the self-service electricity payment system includes functions such as bill payment, information inquiry, bill printing, and transaction reconciliation. It also allows users to prepay their electricity bills, helping to avoid losses due to missed payments.
