DaVinci 3D Corp. has teamed up with the International 3D Society to launch its cinema-grade conversion technology. Jim Chabin, CEO of the association, asked DaVinci 3D CEO Steve Blumenthal to convert the closing clip of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AOA) meeting of the International 3D Association Outreach Program from 2D to 3D.
AOA invites the International 3D Association to show how 3D can change the face of entertainment and education. Jim Chabin and Mike Piltzecker of Influence Pictures in Los Angeles produced a Chicago clip for presentation in Chicago. The clip uses film from Chicago's iconic landscape, including the city skyline.
For 30 years, Stephen Blumenthal, the former co-founder of 3DFusion and the inventor of 3DFusion technology, has been a pioneer in the field of autostereoscopic screens and 3D conversion. He recently formed DaVinci 3D in Ithaca, New York to drive the Growth of 3D TV in the B2B and consumer markets. DaVinci has developed an accelerated conversion process for 3D and glasses-free AS3D that require glasses.
For the first time, DaVinci 3D introduced its new semi-automatic stereo conversion technology for Chicago cinema-sized screens. Mr. Chabin praised this extraordinary effort and outstanding results.
Chabin praised: “DaVinci completed the task within a very tight deadline and was warmly welcomed by 2,500 ophthalmologists. The clip was very successful and widely acclaimed.â€
Blumenthal went on to say, “This is what we want to see. We show our most demanding critics – a group of ophthalmologists wearing glasses – the 'natural 3D' ASD images we launched for the consumer 3D TV market, they like it very much. ."
Blumenthal concludes: "The biggest difference between Da Vinci 3D and the prior art is that the method we use can mimic the most natural scenes we see in our eyes. DaVinci 3D AS3D Digital Signage Display (Auto Stereo Display - ASD) Capable of attracting attention at a visual distance of 20 feet while providing customers with natural, non-abuse 3D images that are as comfortable to watch as HDTVs. If 3D TVs are not as good as HDTVs, then it is destined to be Failure."
The successful 2D/3D conversion method in the film shows that the 3D content industry will experience a promising future. DaVinci 3D invites film, production companies, archives and library owners to reassess their conversion needs based on DaVinci's significantly reduced rates.
DaVinci 3D will launch the B2B ASD 3D kit without glasses at the 3D Summit in Los Angeles this September. “The 2D/3D conversion we launched in Chicago undoubtedly shows that our conversion technology has been 'ups and outs'. This is the first high-quality 2D/3D semi-automatic conversion process that has entered the market, and we are just beginning to let those who hold our technology The skeptics are convinced.
