The road surface is frozen and the vehicle is rolled up fortunately

Ms. Guan, originally from Jiangxi, was on her way back to her hometown before the company's annual vacation. Her boss arranged for a company car to transport her and two colleagues to their home town. What was meant to be a pleasant trip turned into a traumatic experience when Ms. Guan suffered a head injury after a serious accident occurred on Kenting Road.

The incident took place on an icy stretch of road near the Shida Expressway. The group was traveling southbound on Kenting Road with the intention of taking the Shida Expressway toward the expressway. This particular section of the road is known for its railway culvert, which is approximately 60 meters long. As the minivan approached this area, the driver lost control due to the icy conditions.

"The car shook violently, swayed left and right several times, then suddenly flipped over and slid for a short distance," Ms. Guan recalled. Fortunately, everyone in the vehicle was wearing seatbelts, which helped prevent more severe injuries. "Otherwise, we could have been thrown out of the car. The consequences would have been much worse," she said.

According to reports, three other small vans also veered off the road at the same location, but only Ms. Guan was injured. Doctors confirmed that she would be able to leave the hospital after one or two days of observation. While the accident was alarming, it could have been far worse under different circumstances.

At the scene, reporters observed that the 60-meter-long section of road is located beneath a railway bridge. There was no sunlight reaching the area, and water pipes on either side of the bridge drained directly into the green belts along the road. As a result, the road remained wet throughout the day. With temperatures dropping below freezing the previous night, the conditions were ideal for ice formation, making the road extremely hazardous.
