Misunderstanding of floor heating and knowledge of construction and use

Floor heating, commonly known as "geothermal", is the form of heating that is emitted upward from the ground. Because geothermal heating methods are ergonomic and economical, they have been favored in recent years.

According to public statistics, the area of geothermal heating in Beijing has been increasing year by year, especially for newly built high-end residential buildings, which mostly use geothermal heating. At the same time, more and more residents of the built-up residential areas have also adopted geothermal reconstruction.

However, despite the advantages of geothermal heating as a whole, as a special new heating method, people inevitably have some confusing misunderstandings and “knowledge” blind spots in the process of consumption, installation and use. Therefore, before the geothermal “please” enters the house, you may wish to briefly understand it.

Misunderstanding of floor heating

Misunderstanding 1 All buildings can be installed

The floor heating system is not suitable for all buildings. There is a great deal of blindness and follow-up in the current installation and renovation boom. According to Liu Fei, Manager of Engineering Department of Longfa Decoration Company, at present, there are two main forms of geothermal heating, one is plumbing and geothermal, that is to say, metal pipes, plastic pipes, etc. are buried in the concrete floor by coal-fired, oil-fired, gas-fired boilers or Electric boilers provide hot water heating; the other is electric geothermal heating, which means that the heating cable is buried in the concrete floor, and 220V electricity is used to directly heat or store heat.

In theory, this way of heating, hot air rises from the bottom up, and the feet are hot and hot. However, for residential houses, geothermal heat is only suitable for bathrooms and kitchens because there are a lot of furniture in bedrooms, living rooms, and study rooms. On the one hand, these furniture impedes the dissipation of geothermal heat. On the other hand, high ground temperatures can also cause furniture to be deformed and damaged.

In addition, to install geothermal heating, a concrete/cement layer must be laid on the cable (direct heating 3-5cm, heat storage 5-8cm), so that the load on the floor is greatly increased. Therefore, geothermal heating installations must be specially calculated during the design phase of the building structure to increase the structural strength.

Now, some developers have not considered this issue. If the quality of construction is not enough, it will cause potential safety hazards for the entire building.

★ Misunderstanding 2 applies to all plates

Geothermally-heated floors cannot be placed on solid wood floors because cement nails that install keels can damage water pipes or cables. The laying of laminate flooring is also a big problem. As we all know, under the laminate flooring must be a layer of foam, but this layer of foam is a heat insulation material, which will seriously hinder the heat dissipation, if you do not spread the foam layer, composite The service life of the floor will be greatly affected.

Many businesses now claim that flooring can be used in geothermal heating systems, which is in fact misleading consumers. According to Liu Fei, most floors on the market such as 12-18mm thick solid wood flooring, bamboo flooring, etc. are not suitable for ground heating radiation systems, otherwise they will affect heat conduction or cause floor deformation. In general, laminate flooring is more suitable for use as a geothermal floor. It is pressed at high temperatures and has a low internal moisture content, so the floor will not be deformed due to water loss.

Liu Fei told reporters that geothermal heating on the floor of the very high requirements, including the following aspects, one of the high density of the substrate, the internal bonding strength is good; Second, the water thickness expansion rate is less than or equal to 2.5%; Third, formaldehyde The release must be as low as possible. Fourth, the heat transfer coefficient is very important. At present, there is a heat conductivity coefficient approval provided by the Korean Institute of Building Materials Experiments, KOLAS International Inspection Agency, etc., which can be inspected before purchase.

Floor heating construction: hydrostatic test after construction

The use of geothermal room construction is also more complex than ordinary houses. Briefly, the main steps are: sweeping the construction site; laying insulation boards and aluminum paper; laying and reinforcing wire mesh; arranging and reinforcing geothermal coils; installing water separators and main pipe connections; and testing the pressure of geothermal pipe systems.

In terms of construction, floor heating should be installed on the upper part of the floor adjacent to the unheated room and on the perimeter of the outer wall of the radiant floor. Styrofoam sheet is used for the heat insulation layer, and the thickness should meet the following requirements: The insulation layer is 20mm, and the filling layer above the geothermal pipe should be covered with fine stone concrete. The filling layer on the heating pipe should be laid with 2mm diameter steel mesh.

After the construction is completed, the owner is better to check the use of geothermal heat, first of all the hydrostatic test. The specific steps include the following steps: the first step is to slowly inject the water through the water separator and discharge the air in the pipeline; the second step, after the water is filled, is to perform the watertight inspection; the third step is to use a manual pump to slowly raise the pressure; After boosting to the specified test force, stop pressure, regulate 1h, observe whether there is water leakage phenomenon; Step 5, after the pressure is stabilized for 1h, make up to the specified test pressure value, the pressure drop within 15min does not exceed 0.05Mpa without leakage qualified.

The initial heating should be heated slowly during commissioning. The water temperature should be controlled within 25°C-30°C for about 20 hours, and within 24 hours, the water temperature can reach the normal range.

Floor use: new floor opening must be gradually warmed

Do not think that the floor will be everything will be fine, according to experts, the use of geothermal heating, but also need to master some basic knowledge: First of all, the system is installed 24 hours after the beginning of gradual warming, please keep the ground clean and dry before heating, to prevent the floor due to Cracking and distorting occurs when the temperature rises too fast. Secondly, if geothermal heating is not used for the first time or every other year, it is better to set a minimum temperature first, and then gradually increase the temperature. It is advisable to raise the temperature by 1°C per hour. If the heating is too fast, it may cause the wooden floor to be distorted and cracked. Thirdly, as far as possible on the wooden floor with geothermal heating, no decorative parts or legless furniture shall be fixed as far as possible to prevent the local heat from flowing and the heat from boring on the wooden floor. Department, easy to produce uneven deformation of the floor due to heat. In addition, furniture can also affect the flow of hot air, resulting in reduced thermal effects.
