The Changfeng Street viaduct project in Taiyuan has been under construction for nearly a month, with over 3,000 workers actively involved in the development. According to recent updates from the project headquarters, the pile foundation work along the route is now fully underway, and the project is expected to be completed by the end of August, after which it will open to traffic.
Changfeng Street is known for its heavy traffic, which made it challenging to carry out the construction without causing major disruptions. To minimize the impact on daily commutes, the construction team implemented a partial closure strategy. This approach, however, significantly increased the complexity of the work. The project manager explained that the working area was limited to just 26 meters wide, making it difficult to maneuver large equipment. A 23.5-meter-wide viaduct was constructed within this narrow space, with only one piece of machinery allowed on each side. Additionally, 327 cement piles needed to be poured carefully, avoiding the complex underground utilities. Such conditions make site management crucial for both safety and efficiency.
One notable detail observed on the site is the color-coded hard hats worn by workers. Red helmets are worn by project managers, yellow ones by construction workers, and blue ones by supervisors. This system helps improve safety awareness and facilitates smoother coordination among different teams during the construction process.
Currently, the pile foundation work is progressing across the entire site. The project leader mentioned that the unique method used for pouring concrete involves continuous pouring. Any interruption could compromise the structural integrity of the viaduct. To reduce noise disturbances for nearby residents, most of the pouring is scheduled during daylight hours. However, due to the need for continuous operations, some work may extend into the evening, leading to unavoidable noise. The team hopes for public understanding and support during this critical phase of the project.
As the project moves forward, the focus remains on maintaining quality, ensuring safety, and minimizing disruption to the local community. With the completion approaching, the viaduct is expected to greatly improve traffic flow and connectivity in the area.
Schott BK7 Ball Lens
N-BK7 Ball Lenses are glass spheres commonly used in fiber optic applications, ball lenses are ideal for focusing light into optical fibers, or for fiber coupling. Fused Silica features high transmission from 200nm to 2.2μm with a low coefficient of thermal expansion, making it ideal for the most demanding ball lens applications in the ultraviolet, visible, and near infrared spectra.Â
Ball lenses are commonly used for improving signal coupling between fibers, emitters, and detectors, as well as objective lenses in endoscopy and bar-code scanning applications. Half-ball lenses simplify handling and integration.
