Kitchen hardware maintenance cleaning has a coup

Kitchen hardware is generally categorized into two types: standard and specialized. Standard components include hinges, slides, and drawer runners, while specialized items cover bathroom hardware and kitchen accessories. Among these, hinges, slides, handles, and locks are more frequently used in daily life, making them particularly important.

Part 1: Winter Maintenance Tips

1. To prevent freezing, insulate water pipes, water meters, and faucets by wrapping them with thick materials like cotton fabric, old clothes, or wool. This helps retain heat and avoid damage from ice expansion.

2. At night, close the kitchen, bathroom, and all windows in shaded rooms to maintain indoor temperatures above 0°C. This prevents cold air from entering and reduces the risk of pipe freezing.

3. If the indoor temperature drops below 0°C, turn off the water meter valve and open the faucet to drain any remaining water in the pipes. This minimizes the chance of water freezing inside the system.

4. In extremely cold weather (below -5°C), it’s advisable to slightly loosen the faucet after using water at night. Keeping it in a slow drip state ensures continuous water flow, preventing the pipes from freezing during the night.

5. If a pipe becomes frozen, first open the faucet and wrap it with a hot towel. Then, slowly pour warm water over the pipe from the faucet end to help thaw it. If no water flows from the meter, the water meter may also be frozen. In that case, place a warm towel over the meter (not exceeding 30°C) to defrost it—never use fire or direct heat, as this can cause damage.

Part 2: Cleaning and Maintenance

1. Rinse the faucet with clean water, then dry it thoroughly with a soft cotton cloth to avoid water spots and mineral buildup.

2. For removing grime or deposits, use mild liquid glass cleaners, non-abrasive soft liquids, or completely dissolved powders that are acid-free. Avoid harsh chemicals that could scratch or corrode the surface.

3. Never use abrasive materials such as scouring pads, rough cloths, or paper towels. Also, avoid cleaners containing acids or strong polishing agents, as they can damage the finish of your fixtures.

4. If water pressure remains above 0.02MPa (or 0.2kgf/cm²), and you notice reduced water flow or the water heater turns off unexpectedly, gently unscrew the faucet slightly at the outlet. This can help clear minor blockages caused by sediment or limescale buildup.
