**2. Top Plate Separation Tester Installation Procedure:**
(1) Drilling the hole: Use an alloy steel drill bit with a diameter of Φ27 mm or Φ28 mm, along with a hollow hexagonal drill. Before drilling, tap the top of the rock to assess its condition, identify loose or dangerous rocks, and confirm the area is safe before proceeding. The hole must be precisely positioned, ensuring the roof naturally droops. The drilling depth should be 1 meter deeper than the anchoring depth of the nearby anchor cable.
(2) Installing the anchors: Insert the deep base anchor into the hole using the anchor cable until it reaches the designated position (same length as the anchor cable). After removing the cable, pull the wire rope to check if the anchor is securely fixed. Then install the shallow base anchor in the same manner. Finally, push the white PVC sleeve of the separator into the hole and ensure it is tightly fixed near the roof.
(3) Aligning the scales: Place the red sleeve over the two measuring points and secure the rope, cutting off any excess wire.
(4) Record initial readings: After installation, note down the initial values for both the depth and base point scales.
(5) Installation by trained personnel: All roof separation indicators must be installed by qualified technicians on-site.
